The 2017-18 Indoor Girls Track team captured their 6th straight Indoor Intersectional Championship Title Saturday Feb. 10th at Ocean Breeze Sports Complex in Staten Island.

Scoring 80 points, 41 ahead of second place finisher Kellenberg, the Friars captured points in thirteen of the sixteen events. Senior Mikyla Rodgers walked away with two first place plaques in the Shot Put (38-04.00) and Weight throw (47-08.25) and was named Female Field Athlete of the meet. Other first place awards where captured by Sr. Nicole Karabaich in the High Jump (5-0) Jr. Bianca Skeleton in pole vault (10-00.00) and the 4x400 (4:04.60 Fr. Sarah Dolphin, Sr. Brianna Burkley, Sr. Kelly Gaffney, Fr. Melissa Cunningham). They will get ready for states to be held at Ocean Breeze on March 3rd. 

Performances overall where outstanding with the six field events contributing 50 points to the team score. Seniors Burkley (300 and 4x4),  Karabaich (55 Hurdles, high jump & 4x2) Kataina Piere (55 hurdles) Gaffney (600 4x4) Emily Carlson (long jump) Mary Salad (triple jump) Rodgers (shot, weight) are now looking to keep the team focussed and points rolling as they move toward the outdoor season. With a strong group of underclassmen who finished also in scoring position in most events, has the team excited about the outdoor season.
