This game was a 'Tale of Two Halves".  The Cougars came out fiercely, going up by 5 to end the first quarter. They stayed up until the very end of the second quarter. Senior Lauren Hackett put up a 3 pointer near the end of the quarter to get the Friars a bit of separation and put us up by 4 to go into the half.
Second half... it was all Friars! They put an end to the Cougar's hopes with lockdown interior defense. Repeated steals and turnover conversions led the Friars to a 28 to 8 third quarter. The Cougars were never able to recover again.
Sydney Taylor had a game high 27 points with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Tamia Lawhorne logged her 4th Double-Double of the season with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Senior Lauren Hackett added 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists & 4 steals; Toni Kinard contributed 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists & 1 steal, while Ashia Smith also added 7 points, 3 rebounds & 1 assist. Sophomore Synclair Taylor added 2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals before she was taken out by an errant elbow and Kayli Parham added 1 rebound and 2 assists to round out the stats.
