The score was Truman 14, SAHS 4 at the half. Our girls had no answer for the sheer size of Truman's 6"3" center combined with the athleticism of their two guards. After the half we valiantly struggled to stop their onslaught and went down another 11 points in the third. We knew we needed to keep the ball out of the center's hands and finally in the fourth, the combination of Giannah Rivera and Erin Conte on the point trap started turning the ball over. Our girls caught fire behind the defensive energy and went on a 17 to 7 run get back in this and make it a game! Absolutely fantastic effort by the whole team! They got a standing O from the crowd and may not have won the game, but definitely took a moral victory from that one!!!
