St. Anthony's Varsity Friars stayed in it until the end, but Chaminade pulled away late in a 2-1 victory on Friday.  The game was tied at one with Chaminade batting in the top of the eighth when Vincent Roman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Chaminade pitchers struck out 12, while St. Anthony's Varsity Friars sat down seven.

Chaminade evened things up at one in the top of the fifth inning when Andrew Kontos induced Nolan Nawrocki to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Andrew Heiderstadt was credited with the victory for Chaminade. The ace went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out six.

Connor McCreery took the loss for St. Anthony's Varsity Friars. The pitcher went two innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out four.

Kontos started the game for St. Anthony's Varsity Friars. The righty lasted six innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out three J.J. Gatti started the game for Chaminade. The bulldog surrendered one run on zero hits over four innings, striking out six
