St. Anthony's Grabs lead in Sixth inning to defeat SJB in Semi Fianls of the Play offs
The Friars stole the lead late and defeated St. Johns the Baptist 3-2 May 21st. The game was tied at two with SA batting in the bottom of the sixth when Erin Steinert singled on a 1-0 count, scoring the winning run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Kayla Daly struck out 14, while Grillo of SJB sat down three. Daly the winning pitcher surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings. Grillo went six innings allowing three runs on five hits.
Jessica Roberts led the Friars going 2-2 on the day.
The Friars will May 22nd at 3:30 pm at Hofstra University vs. #1 seed Kellenberg.
