2019 League and State Champions
Team MVP: Matthew Mitchell
Team Academic Scholar: Jake Donahue
This season was about more than wins and losses for this group of Friars. It was about facing and owning up to adversity. It was about the realization of how important family is, that life and good health is precious, and how one's faith is paramount in everything we do.
While the regular season was filled with many ups and downs, this year's team proved themselves to be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs beginning with an epic rivalry match with Chaminade that saw the Friars score early on a brilliant strike from Jake Donahue while keeping the opposition scoreless.
The League Championship featured the Friars winning in double overtime against Kellenberg. The 2-1 final score on the game winner by Dalton Dancy enabled the Friars to move on in their quest for the program's fifth State Championship.
The Friars drew Fordham Prep in the semifinal match. Both sides had opportunities but at the end of regulation and after two overtimes the score remained 0-0. Finally after going trading penalty kicks the Friars Goal Keeper, Christian Micheli, came up with the game winning save. The momentum carried into the State Championship Game versus Molloy, where the Friars won 3-0 winning the State Championship
The Friars posted an overall record of 16-7-2
