The 2024 Boys Varsity Golf team was an experienced team with 5 returning starters from last year and seven seniors.  This team was on a mission to reclaim the League title from Chaminade after a narrow loss in last year's league championship. What made this team unique was their chemistry and the fun that they had while competing. They really enjoyed pushing one another and working hard to earn a spot in our 7 man starting lineup.

The boys started strong and never looked back, Winning 63 of the 70 individual matches throughout the season. The early season matchup with Chaminade was a close one, but we were able to win 4-3 thanks to a clutch performance from Aryan Patel. In the rematch we dominated Chaminade 6-1 at home, which was the widest margin against our friends from Mineola in 12 years. That win was the end of the season highlight that allowed the team to complete the regular season undefeated going 10-0.

This years team was led by five Golfers who earned ALL-League Honors. Seniors Dean Muratore and Joseph Mayal, Juniors Nicholas Prosa and Finn Tyrer and Sophomore Jacob Andersen. Those players each earned this distinction with a scoring average in the top 8 in the entire league.

The team competed in the League championship tournament this past Monday at the Eisenhower Park Red Course. Dean Muratore won the individual championship with a 3 under 69. Nicholas Prosa and Joseph Mayal tied for 2nd, both shooting 75. Strong performances by Aryan Patel, James Kavanagh and Nick Kosciusko qualified them to join our ALL League golfers at the State Tournament on June 3rd.

Amongst a 40 player field, St. Anthony’s placed 6 Golfers in the Top 10, helping contribute to a 30 shot victory over Chaminade to earn our 3rd title in the last 4 years.

Day 3 Mon  3/11  @ Eisenhower State Pk -  Varsity Tryouts = All 11th/12th & some 10th/9th

Day 4 Tue. 3/12 @ Eisenhower State Pk -   JV Tryouts = Remaining 10th & 9th

Day 5 Wed. 3/13 @ Eisenhower State Pk -    Bubble Day = Last Day of Tryouts   

Day 6 Thu. 3/14 @ Eisenhower State Pk -    Make Up/Rain Date

Tryout Course - Eisenhower Park Golf (1899 Hempstead Turnpike, Westbury, NY 11590)

Golfers will be back in time for the Late buses when at the Range or parents can pick up at the Range around 430-445pm.

When at the course golfers we will not be back in time for the late buses ever.   Parents may pick up at the course (6-630) or back at school between 645 -730pm

9th & 10th Grade - bus will leave right after school

Returning Varsity A, 11th & 12th Grade -bus will leave right after school
