Tonight, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of the St. Anthony's High School Softball team! This year's squad stepped onto the field with the weight of incredible success on their shoulders. Having graduated six talented seniors last year, five of whom went on to compete at the Division 1 level after a flawless 25-0 season, their seventh consecutive Long Island Championship, their fourth straight State Championship, and a #5 national ranking, the bar was undeniably set sky-high.
Filling those shoes was no small feat, yet the 2025 St. Anthony's softball team has risen to the challenge and then some! While their remarkable 40-game winning streak was broken this season, their dominance within the league remains absolute, boasting an astounding 52 consecutive league victories.
Their current record stands at an impressive 22-3, earning them the coveted #1 ranking in the state and a strong #20 national ranking. This team has fearlessly faced the toughest schedule in St. Anthony's softball history, taking on nationally ranked opponents from four different states, showcasing their grit and determination on a national stage.
Their journey is not over! Yesterday, the #1 seed swept a doubleheader from #2 seeded Kellenberg Memorial to win their eighth straight Long Island Championship. With their sights firmly set on the ultimate goal, they advanced to the State Tournament this Friday, where they will compete for their fifth consecutive State Championship.
