End of Season Review

Congratulations 2019 Boys Cross Country

2019 Fall Boys Top Team Academic Honors

Team MVP: Robert Doherty
Team Scholarship Athlete: Jonathan Solar

The Boys Cross Country team had a season filled with upsets and down.  This young team entered the season with high hope and had to battle to overcome some early season injuries to a few key athletes.  The team persevered but was unable to reach its goal of continuing the team’s usual championship standards. The hard work and effort did pay off with some bright individual achievements as 4 of the boys, Jonathan Solar, Patrick Finegan, Luke Connolly, and Robert Doherty achieved All League with Patrick and Jonathan also garnering All State. Reassuringly, there's a bright light at the end of the tunnel as evidenced by the JV winning the League Championship and the Freshmen winning the State Catholic Championship.

Head Coach Tim Dearie

Coach Tim Dearie is a St. Anthony’s Alum from the Class of ‘79 and has been coaching since 1984.  Coach Dearie just finished his 105th season as a Cross Country and Track and Field coach. 66 of them were at St. Anthony’s.  Coach Dearie’s St. Anthony’s varsity teams have won 45 League Championships and 21 State Catholic Intersection titles. He is also the winningest coach at the State Federation Cross Country Championships with five team titles.  He has coached countless individual and relay state champions as well as a Distance Medley Relay Team that won Penn Relays this season. Coach has helped develop more than fifty All Americans and is very proud that over thirty of his former athletes have gone on to become track and/or cross country coaches.
