2022 Track Season Recap

Updated on 06/10/2022

The 2022 Boys Spring Track team has been quite successful this season. The League Championship concluded like the 13 in a row before it - with a dominating win where the Friars outscored the rest of the League combined! It was a total team victory with Sprints, Distance, jumps, throws, and Pole vault each contributing in big ways. The biggest performance of the meet was by senior Nick Lourenco, the best vaulter ever from Long Island and 2nd best ever in the state. Nick cleared 16'6" and took three attempts at 17'.

The highlight of the regular season was a dominant win at the Loucks Games in White Plains. Teams from 12 states and Canada were represented and our well-rounded team was clearly the best team at the meet.

Next week the team will head to Icahn Stadium on Randall's island for the State Catholic Championship where we hope to win our 3rd in a row and qualify many athletes for Federation Championships.

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Track Team on a great season.

CONGRATULATIONS
MVP - Nicholas Lourenco
Team Scholar Athlete - Jordan Spencer
