2018 Girls Swimming Season
Updated on 06/10/2022
2018 SEASON:
The girls Varsity Swim team finished the dual meet season with an 8-1 record. The defending champions lost their first dual meet in 9 years. It was a tough learning experience, but it became a catalyst that only fueled this team to be better. In order to beat the other talented teams, the Lady Friars had to out work them. And that they did.
Coach Dan McBride believes that you can not win a Championship without quality leadership.
Outstanding leadership from all of our seniors as well as our captains, Alannah Chernik and Kiersten Clancy, brought this team to be their absolute best and they came back to Win their 9th Straight record setting Championship.
After two full days of incredible swimming, the Friars scored 806 Team Points to win the meet by 64 points. The team had champions in the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 free, the 200 individual medley, the 100 backstroke, and the 100 breaststroke. The team will be graduating 10 seniors.
Congratulations to the Girls Swim team on a great season
2018 MVP Junior Briana Gellineau
2018 Team Scholar Senior Danielle Pikulik

The Lady Friars come back to win Champs with a monumental performance!
After suffering their first dual meet loss in over 8 seasons... the Friars were driven to prove they are still the team to beat. For two straight days, they out swam their opponents to score 806 Team Points!
Heading into the weekend, the Friars didn't have a single relay qualified for States. In fact, the only swimmer who qualified "in Season", was junior Briana Gellineau. After two days, the Friars have qualified all three relays, and Amanda Heinz, Danielle Pikulik, and Kayla Rutigliano joined Briana in individual events.

Senior Night

SENIOR NIGHT
The Friars defeat The Mary Louis Academy to a packed
house that had the Natatorium of Half Hollow Hills Rockin'!
Man... was it LOUD! (credit to both teams!)
Congratulations on a great finish of an awesome 8-1 dual meet season! Most important is... after 7 preparation meets and two meets (one a loss... one a win) that have battle tested this team, we now know what effort its going to take to win a Championship. WE WILL BE READY!
After losing for the first time in eight years against Sacred Heart Tuesday, everyone was pumped
for the upcoming meet against The Mary Louis Academy. Race after race everyone's adrenaline was pumping while the parents on the sidelines were cheering excitedly. With the score really close it was up to the 400 free relay to give us a boost and give us the extra points needed. During the last lap, we were neck in neck with the other team until Briana Gellineau tapped out the lane next to her. We then beat the other team by 14 points because of our fast relay groups. Since it was Senior Night the juniors made speeches about their senior and gave them gifts. Their emotional speeches left the seniors and the parents in tears ending the night on a good note getting us ready to win championships
IT'S TIME TO UNLEASH THE FRIARS!!!
