Team Scholar - Reilly McKinley
Team MVP - Lindsay Yakaboski
His experience as a member of the Haitian National Team from 2001-2003 helped him develop into one of the finest track coaches in the CHSAA.
Our winter season began like many others. Our goals were to win the Freshman and Sophomore championship, the Varsity championship, and the Catholic State championship. The team came out victorious in all three, scoring 93 points for the freshman and Soph Championships, 96 points at the league Championship, and 48 points at the CHSAA State Championship. This season's State championship was the program’s 10th consecutive state championship.
The seasons consisted of some remarkable achievements including going up to Boston to run on the New Balance brand new track and running a season-best in the Sprint medley relay good enough for #2 in the country. We also put up the fastest 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 relays in both Nassau County and intersectional leagues. We also posted the best results in numerous events. Maria Chiariello and Elizabeth Scubla in Shot put and Weight throw, , Lauren Lynch in Pole vault, Riley Griffith in the 1500meter.Lindsey Yakaboski and Kiara Udell in the 1000 meter, Lindsey Yakaboski, Annalise Olsen in the 600 meter, Kayla Desousa and Camryn Daley in the 300 meter, and finally Camryen Daley in the 55 meter.
This weekend we will be heading to compete in the New York State Federation Indoor Championships.
Congratulations to the Varsity Girlss Winter Track Team on a great season.
