2022 Spring Recap

Varsity Badminton had an incredible, undefeated 2022 season. With 18 returners from last year, and 10 new players, we built a team that worked hard, together, from Day 1, and excelled throughout the season.

We finished as CHSAA League Champions with a 14-0 final record, earning accolades in every possible category. 14 matches mean a total of 98 games were played,  losing only 10 matches all season. This was by far, the best we’ve performed in years.

Our #1 singles player, Madeline Diemer, not only earned 1st place for her position, but the Karen Andreone Memorial Player of the Year Award. In addition to Madie’s individual success, we also came in first place for the league in five other positions and second place in a sixth position. All 9 of those girls earned All League Titles, along with 6 more players, totaling 15 All League Titles for the team!

Coach Roveto

Miss Roveto, a St. Anthony’s graduate herself, has been teaching here for the past 7 years where she primarily teaches Honors Biology. She is involved in a number of different student activities at school, such as the Special Needs Ministry Club. Since she returned back to St. Anthony’s she has been involved with Athletics, coaching Girls Soccer in the fall and Girls Badminton in the spring. She has coached every level in the Girls Soccer Program and is now the Assistant Varsity Coach. She has also been the Girl's Varsity Badminton Coach since 2018 and has worked hard to build a winning program.  In 2019 and 2022, the team was undefeated and Miss Roveto earned Coach of the Year.

Ms. Rovetto is grateful for Miss Roecklein’s support and help throughout the season and is looking forward to seeing what the team can do next year!
