St. Anthony's Grabs lead in Sixth inning to defeat SJB in Semi Fianls of the Play offs The Friars stole the lead late and defeated St. Johns the Baptist 3-2 May 21st. The game was tied at two with SA batting in the bottom of the sixth when Erin Steinert singled on a 1-0 count, scoring the winning run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Kayla Daly struck out 14, while Grillo of SJB sat down three. Daly the winning pitcher surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings. Grillo went six innings allowing three runs on five hits. Friars snatched the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory of #3 East Meadow on Tuesday. The game was tied at five with SA batting in the bottom of the sixth when Erin Steinert hit a solo homer. She led the Friars with two hits in four at bats. East Meadow opened up scoring in the first inning. EM scored two runs when Julianna Sanzone homered.  St. Anthony's notched three runs in the fifth inning. Alyssa Seidler and Kacie Dilworth each ad RBIs in the frame Seidler took the win for the Friars going seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out eight. Christine Loeffler took the loss for East Meadow. She went six innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out seven.    

3-1 Loss to KM The #4  Friars (8-1 CHSAA) experience their first league loss of the season after facing KM for the second time this season. In a very strong pitchers duel the game was pushed into extra innings.  These two powerhouse teams will meet again during playoffs the week of 5/16.  Where varsity hopes to earn back to back championships. 

St. Anthony's Friars Varsity Seilder Throws No-Hitter to Defeat Sacred Heart Academy Alyssa Seidler didn't allow a single hit as St. Anthony's Friars Varsity Defeated Sacred heart Academy 5-1 on Wednesday. To get the final out Seidler struck out Kramer. St. Anthony's grabbed an early lead. The Friars scored an error in the first inning, a double by Eri Steinert in the second inning, a double by Kayla Daly in the second inning and a single by Seidler in the second inning. The Friars pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Steinert doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Daly doubled on the first pitch of the bat, scoring one run and Seidler singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Seidler was the winning pitcher going seven innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out 14.  Varsity totaled nine hits in the game.
